Oman, represented by the State Audit Institution (SAI), will take part in a meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on IT Audit to be held in Japan on May 21-23. Oman’s delegation to the meeting will be led by Nasser bin Hamoud al Rawahi, Deputy Chairman of the State Audit Institution.

It will cover standards applied to detect embezzlement and fraud in IT, assess risk factors in e-government and the tools used in electronic work papers.

The INTOSAI’s main IT Audit Committee develops knowledge in IT audit, propagates audit rules on member states and boosts bilateral relations and experiences

An introductory lecture on the Certificate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK (ACCA) was held at the State Audit Institution (SAI). The ACCA is one of the largest and fastest growing global professional accountancy bodies. It covers 14 subjects divided into three levels. Level one covers three subjects, level two six subjects and level three five subjects. The exams are held twice a year in June and December. Training courses on the ACCA are being offered by some institutes and colleges here.
