State Audit Institution Implements an Awareness Session for the Employees of the Ministry of Information

      In cooperation with the Ministry of Information, State Audit Institution carried out an awareness session on SAI role and the importance of institutional partnership in the protection of public fund and integrity promotion, for the employees of the Ministry of Information, on Monday 4th of March 2024. The session was implemented by Faisal bin Hamood Al-Hasni, Director of Legal Affairs Department, and Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Saidi, Director of Legal Studies Department.

 

      The awareness session highlighted in detail the responsibilities and powers of SAI and the role assigned to it, as well as its work methodology to carry out the task of financial and administrative audit on funds owned by the State or subject to its management or supervision, as well as financial and administrative transactions. The session also discussed following up the performance of the entities subject to SAI audit in accordance with the laws regulating its work. Moreover, the session reviewed the added value of its work and forms of financial declaration and annual disclosure of the government official.

      Furthermore, the session addressed the efforts exerted by SAI in combating corruption in light of assuming the task of the Anti-Corruption Authority and follow-up on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The session also shed light on awareness-raising activities for all segments of the society to instill the values of integrity through various print, visual and audio media and the social media.

     At the end of the awareness session, participants were informed about how citizens and residents can communicate with SAI in the event of submitting complaints, reports or any inquiries. They were also briefed on all official communication channels that SAI provides to the public, accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of the mechanism followed by SAI in dealing with these reports and complaints and its keenness to exercise professional care in this regard. At last, participants were given the opportunity to raise inquiries and suggestions and receive answer thereto
