State Audit Institution Implements Two Lectures for the Employees of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Muscat and Al Batinah South Governorates

Under the theme “National Roles and Institutional Partnership in Protecting Public Fund and Promoting Integrity”, State Audit Institution, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology, delivered two lectures in the presence of the Ministry’s employees in Muscat and Al Batinah South Governorates, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The two lectures were delivered by a number of SAI specialists.
The lectures highlighted the responsibilities and powers of SAI, and the role assigned to it, as well as its work methodology to carry out the task of financial and administrative audit of funds owned by the State or subject to its management or supervision, and all financial and administrative dispositions.
The lecturers also explained the mechanism adopted by SAI in following up the performance of the entities subject to its audit in accordance with the laws regulating its work. Moreover, the lecturers discussed the added value of SAI work and reviewed the forms of financial declaration and annual disclosure of the government official.
Furthermore, the lectures addressed the efforts exerted by SAI in combating corruption in light of assuming the task of the Anti-Corruption Authority and follow-up on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The lectures also shed light on awareness-raising activities for all segments of society to instill the values of integrity through various print, visual and audio media and the social media.
At the end of the lectures, participants were informed about how citizens and residents can communicate with SAI in case of submitting complaints, reports or any inquiries. They were also briefed on all official communication channels that SAI provides to the public, accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of the mechanism followed by SAI in dealing with these reports and complaints and its keenness to exercise professional care in this regard. At last, participants were given the opportunity to raise inquiries and suggestions and receive answer thereto.
